1. Why did you start your blog?
“I don’t know. Is that not a good answer? Haha
Really, I was tired of hearing from people that HR was irrelevant or that it was boring or that it was unnecessary. I was starting to believe those things and going to HR networking events didn’t seem to help this impression. So I started out with just writing about things that were interesting to me about HR. The whole concept was written from the perspective of if your HR guy could have a blog, what would he say? In May 2006 when I started YourHRGuy.com, there weren’t many HR blogs out there so I just found a few and started commenting on them and I also started interacting with recruiters over at (the now defunct) recruiting.com. And a couple hundred posts later, I am here.”
