Great thoughts put together in this post. I think that workforce planning is undervalued and like you say probably overlooked in most organizations. I liked your where your thinking is headed. Web 2.0 is on the rise in the HR world. In order to find specific talent to fill a job in the company is enhanced when properly using Web 2.0.  I say good for the HR professional.
