Have you dumped the idea of using Internet Job Boards due to the deluge of resumes you receive?  Are you a proponent of Social Networking as the latest recruiting tool?  Think you’re the hottest recruiter around finding candidates on Linkedin and other similar sites?  Think again.  The folks at the EEOC may not be impressed.  They are concerned that you are involved in De facto discrimination.  Why?  Because only 5% of the folks on Linkedin are Black and just 2% are Hispanic.  Can you spell Disparate Impact ?  By the way, they also suspect that you are not keeping accurate records on your internet searches.

Let’s face it, sometimes the best recruiters are not the most disciplined about abiding by all the right processes and rules.  That is where a good Staffing Manager comes in.  I used to have the hottest recruiting team in Silicon Valley, but I needed to follow-up with a broom and dust pan to clean-up after them.
